Training
There are hundreds of new paranormal investigation groups popping up all around the country largely due to the popularity the shows that have made their way onto TV and cable. In some ways, that's a good thing, and in other ways it's not.
The equipment isn't necessarily cheap and before you go and invest in all the different meters, monitors, audio and video equipment along with software applications for evidence analysis and post production, you should probably learn something about ti's capabilities, limitations and potential applications before forking out the money.
We often see investigators use the equipment exactly as they have seen it on TV. Unfortunately, you don't learn a lot about using that equipment on these shows and a lot of investigators really do no understand what their equipment is telling them.
We want every investigator to get the most out of their equipment and their investigation experience. If you are going to make the investment in the equipment, you should invest a little into learning what's behind that equipment.
